Dear Friends,
St. Leon Armenian School welcomes you to the 2007-2008 School Year. Our dedicated staff is prepared to provide a year of learning about our language and heritage. Speaking, reading, writing, singing, reciting poetry, studying geography and much more subjects are on the list to study but the Armenian School experience offers much, much more. Friendship and camaraderie, mentoring from recently graduated students, games and fun activities, arts and crafts, the development of poise and stage presence gained from participation in the annual Hantes all add that extra something special to being an Armenian School student.
The school year begins on September 21, 2007. Classes are held every Friday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm We provide drinks and snacks each week and, at the end of each month we celebrate birthdays. Donations for snacks are always welcome; however please remember because of some children’s allergies we cannot accept any products containing nuts. There will be awards at the end of the year for excellent participation, performance and attendance. We encourage parents to help their child strive for academic excellence as well as develop leadership and spirit.
Tuition for the year is $160 per student, which includes the cost of books and supplies. Book bags are given to new students. Throughout the year we will have fundraisers to help defray the costs of running the School. It is hoped that all Armenian School families will support our fundraising and attend our programs. Donations and assistance are always appreciated from any source.
We wish to make every Friday a rewarding and enriching experience. To achieve the best results, we encourage our students with their parents supervision to review the lessons at home and practice the Armenian language as much as possible. It is one of the very best ways to preserve our language and culture.
Sincerely,
St. Leon Armenian School Board
