Armenian School

The St. Leon Armenian School offers classes for children and adults and welcomes you to enroll.

FRIDAY CLASSES (children Kindergarten through 7th Grade) are from 6 PM to 8:30 PM, September through May. 
We have classes in Western Armenian and Eastern Armenian. 
Curriculum includes:

1. Learning the alphabet – names of letters, sounds of letters, writing letters
2. Building vocabulary and ability to read words
3. Building ability to converse in simple, everyday sentences
4. Learning grammar, punctuation, sentence and paragraph writing
5. Learning about our Armenian heritage – history, geography and culture – including learning to sing traditional Armenian songs and to dance traditional Armenian dances
6. Participation in our annual Hantes (a Sunday in May) and other programs

INTERMEDIATE CLASSES (for children who speak Western Armenian in their homes) from 6 PM to 8 PM on Monday (for younger students) or Wednesday (for older students).
Curriculum includes:

1. Developing greater ability to read and write
2. Developing a larger vocabulary
3. Developing conversation ability

ADULT CLASS Wednesdays from 6:45 PM to 8:15 PM.
Curriculum includes:

1. Developing common conversation – ability to speak simple sentences and answer simple questions
2. Learning the alphabet – names of letters, sounds, writing
3. Developing vocabulary
4. Conjugating verbs
5. Learning grammatical nuances of the language
